A lot of people have hated on Linkin Park for their change in sound after Meteora, but I have to say that while I was weird-ed out at first by their new sound, I still enjoyed “Minutes to Midnight” and “A Thousand Suns”.

Monday is almost here.

Early Monday morning, our new single BURN IT DOWN will be released. The LIVING THINGS album pre-sale will begin. You’ll see the album cover, the track listing, and hear about some new tour plans. My bandmates and I are very excited for this week.

Many of you know our story up until this point. We built the band upon the idea of fusing all our favorite styles of music–as different as they might be–into one, signature sound. Our first two albums were the result of a lot of hard work, perseverance, smarts, and luck, to build a toolbox that would provide us with what we needed to make the best songs we could at the time.

Success came at a pivotal time in an industry that was about to take a nosedive, and we were able to establish ourselves before things changed drastically. Hybrid Theory became…

Reflecting on the group’s creative process…

Unfortunately, the group creative process has come to a halt due to the fact that the entire plot and storyboard was rewritten. The group decided that the female character in the story would be the one to insult the male; this would be a type of a hook, as the female characters are not widely seen as the aggressor in abusive relationships. While the group has achieved a rough plot and storyboard, the filming and combining of the two is still required to achieve the goals of this project. I was under the impression that filming would proceed today, but after trying to contact one of my group members to no avail, we unfortunately did not get any sort of filming done yet. From here on, I don’t know what the group’s plan is, but our schedule differences makes it hard for the group to come together to reach upon an agreement. The two biggest hurdles that will come in this project will be communicating efficiently with each other, and to get the filming completed. I am confident in my editing abilities to be able to pull off the type of projects the group wants; specifically, I will be using Adobe Premier Pro 5.5, which offers more editing and effects option than iMovie or Windows Live Movie Maker. Adobe audition can be used to splice audio tracks specifically, while a public Dropbox folder can be used to share movie files, as long as they are not over a large amount of size (I currently have 7GB available).
The biggest concern I have right now is with my group’s communication. The worst case scenario would be for us to do everything last minute, and not planning out when specifically to have everything done together. As Aaron have said, once we have momentum with the project, pieces will start coming together, and we will see a “path” to our goal, but at the moment, I’m feeling a bit uneasy over the end results of this project.
UPDATE 4/20/12: I’ve managed to contact my group partners over the project. While I’m not exactly thrilled about what we currently have, we do at least have something currently done. Unfortunately, the quality of the movie was very low, and everything must be re-shot. The scheduling is a problem for the entire group, as I was told the actors were only available late at night.

What an amazing weekend I had…

What an amazing weekend I had. On Friday, March 23rd, I went to Philly to attend the Modern Artists concert at MilkBoy, where bands such as The Chain Gang of 1974, The Miniature Tigers, and The Geographers Performed. These guys aren’t “Top 100” artists but they each have their own unique, wonderful sound. Of course, the main attraction for me was TCGO1974, and they did not disappoint.
